ABOUT FLARE THA REBEL
Career and love brought hip-hop MC Flare Tha Rebel back to his hometown of Kansas City, MO, which created a second wind of new music that’s already gaining traction. Flare was recently reviewed by The Pitch, which noted that, “As a member of hip-hop collective Anti-Crew, Flare Tha Rebel made quite an impact on the Kansas City hip-hop scene. After making the leap from KC to Chicago in the late ‘00s, he’s now back…”
Known for a highly energic live performance, Flare shared the stage with artists such as Chance the Rapper, RZA of Wu-Tang Clan, Mac Lethal, Nappy Roots, and CES Cru. Although hip-hop at the core, Flare Tha Rebel’s versatility remains as he balances music with socially progressive themes that are still enjoyable enough to raise a glass to at a party. After releasing the heavy-hitting and lyrically sharp tracks “Fuh Wit’ Me” and “Royalty Pt. 1/Pt.2”, Flare Tha Rebel is on the horizon of his upcoming, refreshingly lighthearted single, “Rosé All Day”.
CURRENT RELEASES/PROJECTS
Flare Tha Rebel performs tracks from his EP, Royalty, during On Stage with SIS - a virtual music showcase featuring emerging talent in the Kansas City music scene. Forgoing the option to accept tips during the event, Flare encouraged supporters to donate on behalf of the Equal Justice Initiative to raise funds for the nonprofit's fight against racial inequality and mass incarceration.
Invitingly titled “Fuh Wit’ Me”, Flare Tha Rebel’s single encourages the masses to put his skills to the test. Coupled with a captivatingly dark beat produced by Bob Pulliam, Flare’s lyrics shine with an aggressive yet effortless style. "Fuh Wit' Me" is also joined by a new music video that tackles the duality of code switching in the workplace - a representation of the authentically layered personality that Flare and many others juggle daily.
